Season Showdown

Q: How can I earn credits for my school?
A: First, you have to declare your school in game. This is the only time you can do it. When you select Season Showdown from the main menu for the first time, you will be prompted to select your school. The school you choose who you will represent throughout the season; however, you do not have to play with the team you chose in order for credits to accumulate on behalf of your chosen team.

Q: When can I start earning credits for my school?
A: You can start earning credits for your school during the Pre-Season (Starting July 14th). You can do this by playing vs. CPU and in online games vs. the nation as well as by playing the web Trivia Challenge on various social networking sites. These credits are important as the leaderboard at the end of Pre-Season will be the initial season rankings for the regular season.

Q: When does the regular season begin?
A: The regular season begins August 31st. At this point, you will gain credits for playing your weekly opponent and will be able to use your votes in Allies & Rivals. During the regular season, the best of 5 category format takes place and you will need to win at least 3 categories against your weekly opponent to get the win for the week. The regular season lasts for all 14 weeks of the real life college football season.

Q: What do I get with the credits?
A: Credits are used to track your schools ranking throughout the season. Credits will ultimately determine which 32 schools will be competing in the single elimination tournament at the end of the season to decide the Season Showdown Champion.

Q: Where can I find out who my opponent is each week?
A: Your Season Showdown weekly opponent will mirror your team's weekly opponent in the regular season. To find out who you play each week, you select ‘Season Showdown' from the main menu and then select ‘Schedule'. There, you can view your team's schedule and the entire NCAA schedule.

Q: How is it determined who wins and loses each week?
A: Winners of each game are determined in a best of five category format based on the main Showdown Credits:
• Games played vs. the CPU
• Games played vs. your current Season Showdown opponent
• Games played vs. any random opponent online
• Through the web-based NCAA Trivia Challenge
• Through the web-based Allies & Rivals

Q: Where can I go to access the web-based applications?
A: You can go to seasonshowdown.easports.com and various social networking sites.

Q: Where can I find out how many credits I have accumulated for my school?
A: When in game, select ‘Season Showdown' from the main menu and then select ‘Credit History'. There, you have the choice to view your schools overall credits and your own credits that you have accumulated. You can also keep track of the current progress of a game or view the score for a previous game by selecting the game from the schedules screen inside of Season Showdown.

Q: Can I see how many credits I have accumulated in the middle of playing a game?
A: You can view the credits you have accumulated while playing by pressing the ‘start' button on the controller at any time. At the end of your game, all of your credits will be broken down by category on the final screen.

Q: What happens if I have to stop playing before a game is over?
A: You must complete a game to receive the credits you earned in that game. If you quit an online game, you will be docked 50% of the total credits you earn in the next online game you complete.

Q: Is there a way that I can quit a game without losing credits the next time around?
A: You have the option to Super sim through the rest of the game or you may chose the friendly quit option. To access friendly quit, pause the game, select "Friendly Quit", then select "Offer". This way, neither game will count for you or your opponent and neither of you will lose credits.

Q: Can I negatively affect my team?
A: No. The only way you can lose credits is by playing unfairly which will affect your over all Sportsmanship credits.

Q: Can I end a game with negative credits?
A: No, you can never end a game with negative credits. If at the end of the game, you have more negative Sportsmanship credits than you do in the other categories combined, your total will be ‘0' credits.

Q: Can I see week to week where my team stands in the rankings?
A: Team rankings can be found both in game and online at seasonshowdown.easports.com. To view your teams' standings in game, select ‘Season Rankings' once you are inside Season Showdown. You can also view where you are in regards to the rest of your conference inside the Season Showdown mode by selecting the ‘Conference Standings' tab.

Q: How can I stay up to date with what's going on with the season?
A: There will be "Latest News" text headlines and daily audio and video podcasts that will be updated weekly. The content of these podcasts will be about what's going on in Season Showdown, what are the top games of the week, the biggest upsets from the previous week and what's happening in the coming weeks.
