As a freshman starter, Michael Crabtree set NCAA freshman records with 134 receptions for 1,962 yards and 22 touchdowns. Over his two year career, he had 231 receptions for 3,127 yards and 41 touchdowns, setting a record for receptions made over a two year period. He earned the Fred Biletnikoff Award honors both freshman and sophomore year becoming the first player ever to receive the award as a freshman. He was named the Big 12 Conference Offensive Newcomer of the Year in 2007. He was a unanimous All-American and first team All-Big 12 Conference choice in both 2007 and 2008 and finished fifth in the Heisman hunt this year.

He led the Pac 10 in total offense with 247.92 yards per game and passing efficiency with 164.64 and was a finalist for the 2009 Manning Award and semifinalist for both the Davey O'Brien Award and Maxwell Award.
